At least for now, Apple has no plans to shut down the App Store in Russia, but it has already disabled search ads.
As 9To5Mac reports, the Apple Search Ads tool that allows users to discover relevant apps while searching the App Store has been disabled quite recently.
In an email sent by Apple to developers, the company explains that all search ad campaigns on the App Store in Russia are currently suspended. This means that no new campaigns can be published on the Russian App Store during the entire suspension phase. Apple didn’t provide details on how long the blockade will last, but it’s likely to remain active until Russia retraces its steps in Ukraine.
Recall that Apple has already suspended sales of all its products in Russia and removed some news apps very close to the government from the App Store.
