Apple will unveil a new affordable iPhone SE in a few months, and the manufacturer seems to be already testing its device before its official launch. The 2022 iPhone SE has reportedly already been spotted in India.
According to information from our colleagues at 91mobiles, Apple seems to have started testing a new iPhone SE in India. Indeed, three devices totaling seven model numbers have been imported into the country, including an iPhone SE currently known as iPhone SE+ 5G, but also a classic iPad and a new iPad Air. .
Of the seven model numbers spotted in India, three correspond to an unreleased iPhone, which appears to be Apple’s more affordable third-generation SE-series model. It will be a direct successor to the iPhone SE 2020. The latter should not be revolutionary, since it would still use the same aging 4.7-inch LCD screen of its predecessor. The big novelty would be its processor, an A15 Bionic, the same as on the high-end iPhone 13s. This will allow him in particular to be compatible with 5G networks.
A spring launch for the new iPhone SE
As revealed by previous leaks, the launch of the new iPhone SE is expected to take place during the spring of 2022. It is expected to be accompanied by many devices, including the new classic iPad and iPad Air which are also being tested in India.
The classic iPad is expected to be a minor update to the current model, while the iPad Air could be equipped with the new A15 chip present in the iPad mini 6 and the iPhone 13. According to information from leaker @dylandkt on Twitter, Apple is also preparing to unveil a new Mac mini with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips recent 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Later in 2022, Apple is also expected to lift the veil on a new iMac Pro.
The Apple Keynote should take place at the same period as last year, towards the end of April. As a reminder, Apple took advantage of its conference on April 20, 2021 to unveil many new products such as AirTags, the iPad Pro M1 or the iMac M1.
