According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Apple may announce two new Macs at WWDC 2022.
Apple is preparing to launch new Macs in the coming months – what better time to do so than WWDC 2022? It’s the same place where the transition from Intel’s Mac to Apple chips was announced two years ago.
“I was told that two new Macs would arrive in the middle of the year or at the beginning of the second half. One of them will probably be the new MacBook Air.
If indeed this hypothesis turns out to be correct, a few months after introducing the M1 Ultra chip and completing the M1 family, Apple could be ready to present its first computer equipped with the M2 chip, the MacBook Air. So far, rumors have it that this Macbook will feature an entirely new design, which in part should be reminiscent of the 24-inch iMac. This MacBook Air will not have a mini-LED display, and it may not have new ports, MagSafe compatibility and a better FaceTime camera. »
Gurman also talks about the new Macs Apple is expected to announce this year:
“Other models in the pipeline include an updated Mac mini and 24-inch iMac, as well as an entry-level MacBook Pro that will replace the older 13-inch model. Let’s also not forget that the new Mac Pro and iMac Pro models are in development. »
