Apple no longer signs iOS 15.4: restoration and update blocked

Apple has stopped signing iOS 15.4 to its servers, meaning that it is no longer possible to install this version, either as an update or to restore your iPhone or iPad.

Apple has offered several betas of iOS 15.4 and the final version was released on March 14. It was a pretty big release overall, unlike iOS 15.3 which brought nothing new. With iOS 15.4, you can use Face ID with a mask, take advantage of Universal Control with iPad and Mac, get 37 new Emojis, and more.

There has been a new update since, namely iOS 15.4.1. It was released on March 31 and corrects an autonomy bug that some users have been encountering since iOS 15.4. It also fixes two other bugs related to Braille devices and the connection to Made for iPhone hearing aids.

The next update will be iOS 15.5. Apple recently offered a first beta, both for developers and for public testers. There is currently not much on the program (see the list of new features), but it is possible that other features will land with the next betas and the final version.

In any case, it is to be expected that Apple will slow down in the development of iOS 15 since the group will present iOS 16 on June 6 during the opening keynote of WWDC. This will be the next big update for iPhone and iPad.
