Apple Park, chemical hazard alert

Around noon Tuesday local time, a fire alarm went off at Apple Park when an envelope containing a white powdery substance was discovered. Workers in the immediate vicinity were evacuated for approximately two hours while Santa Clara County Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident. Despite the chemical alarm, nothing dangerous was found and workers returned to the office around 3 p.m. local time. Authorities did not say what the substance was or why it was in the envelope.

As reported by NBC, Apple has confirmed that authorities have reiterated that the materials inside the casing are not hazardous and now Apple Park is fully operational again.
