The beta of iOS 15.3, iPadOS 15.3, watchOS 8.4 and tvOS 15.3 should have been released yesterday alongside the beta of macOS 12.2. But Apple ultimately decided to cancel the release. It will be for later.
Postponement for the release of the beta of iOS 15.3 and above
Likea user on Twitter, the source code for the download page on Apple’s developer site mentioned iOS 15.3 (build 19D5026g), iPadOS 15.3 (build 19D5026g), watchOS 8.4 (build 19S5525f), and tvOS 15.3 (build 19K5527e). There were even the links to download each beta. This explains how MacRumors got their hands on it at the end of the afternoon and unveiled some information on the meager new features (more information to be found in this dedicated article).
Apple has therefore decided to cancel the release of the new betas, but the manufacturer has not given an explanation. Logic would dictate that a major bug (or security flaw) in the back minute was spotted. But we don’t know more at the moment.
It’s hard to say when the beta of iOS 15.3, iPadOS 15.3, watchOS 8.4 and tvOS 15.3 will be available to developers. Arriving early next week is possible (assuming the problem is easy to fix). But at the same time, we are going to be in Christmas week. Does Apple want to offer a new version during this period? We will have the answer in a few days.
