Similar to what happens with the AirPods, Apple does not communicate the list of changes and other bug fixes. So it’s hard to know that the 10M359 firmware brings to the Beats Studio Buds. It is possible that these are simple bugfixes.

You can check which version is installed. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, locate your Beats Studio Buds in the list and tap the letter “i” next to it. The installed version of the firmware is located on the line “Firmware version”. And if you are using an Android device, you can check the firmware through the Beats app which is available to download from the Play Store.

How to force the installation of the update? Officially, Apple does offer a solution. The download and installation are done automatically in the background. But there is a technique used by Geniuses in Apple Store to force the download concerning AirPods. It may work with Beats products. Here is the method for AirPods:

  • Make sure the AirPods are within Bluetooth range of their iOS, iPadOS, or macOS device
  • Listen to music or other audio with AirPods for at least 30 seconds
  • Put the AirPods back in the charging case and close the lid
  • Connect the charging case to a power source via Lightning
  • Wait 30 minutes and above all do not open the case during this period otherwise you will have to start from the beginning
