Apple, second in the smartphone market in Europe

Apple maintains its market share in Europe, with Samsung in first place and Realme joining the top five for the first time.

Apple holds 23% of the European smartphone market through 2021, according to new data from Strategy Analytics. The iPhone saw 11% year-over-year growth, helping the company to have a stable market share compared to 2020 and position itself in second place.

Samsung maintained its top position with 29% of the market, although it was the only company in the top five to lose market share (-1%). Xiaomi ranks third with a 20% market share and 33% year-on-year growth. Oppo is fourth with 5% market share and +77%. Indian producer Realme entered the top five for the first time with a staggering 548% growth and 3% share.

The overall smartphone market in Europe grew by 3% year-on-year in 2021.
