Apple updates Boot Camp with Studio Display drivers for Windows users

After the announcement of Apple Studio Display, some users wondered if the new monitor would be compatible with Windows. The company has confirmed that the Studio Display works on Windows and has updated Boot Camp with the necessary drivers.

The new Boot Camp version 6.1.17 adds support for the new Display Studio when using Windows through Boot Camp, which is Apple’s solution for installing and running Windows natively on a Mac version. The update also brings updated drivers for AMD and Intel GPUs. However, some Apple Monitor features, such as Center Stage, Spatial Audio, and the “Hey, Siri” voice command, only work with macOS.

Apple says Windows identifies the Studio Display as a regular monitor, and the built-in webcam, microphones, and speakers also work with Windows. The company also notes that while the monitor features a 5K 60Hz panel, resolution and refresh rate may vary depending on computer hardware.

To update Boot Camp drivers on your Mac, click the Start menu while running Windows, then open the Apple Software Update tool. It should be noted that Boot Camp remains only available for Macs equipped with Intel processors.
