Apple today released the second public beta of iOS 15.4 on iPhone and iPadOS 15.4 on iPad. It comes 24 hours after the equivalent version for developers.
Second public beta for iOS 15.4
This second beta of iOS 15.4 is in particular an opportunity to welcome Tap to Pay. This is a feature announced yesterday by Apple that turns the iPhone into a payment terminal (TPE). Merchants will be able to use their iPhone to accept payments from customers via Apple Pay or bank cards thanks to contactless payment. But beware: the iOS 15.4 beta only includes the necessary components for Tap to Pay, there is still work to be done to have the platforms that support the system.
On the other hand, the new beta fixes a bug where some iPhones recorded interactions with Siri and sent them to Apple, when users had specifically requested that such recordings not take place. As a reminder, the first beta was the opportunity to have the use of Face ID with a mask and Universal Control (Universal Control).
If your device is set up to receive public betas, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If this is not the case and you are interested, go to beta.apple.com, log in with your Apple account and let yourself be guided.
Note that Apple also offers the second public beta of macOS 12.3. The equivalent version for developers was released yesterday. It fixes the autonomy bug related to Bluetooth.
