Following the keynote, Apple offers the release candidate of iOS 15.4 on iPhone and iPadOS 15.4 on iPad. This version is in the hands of the developers. The equivalent final version for the general public will arrive next week.
Availability of iOS 15.4 release candidate
There are several new features in iOS 15.4. In particular, we can cite the possibility of using Face ID with a mask. This requires having an iPhone 12 at least. It is however true that this functionality would have been more interesting a few months ago, even a few quarters back. In France, for example, wearing a mask will no longer be compulsory from March 14.
Among the other interesting novelties, we can mention the arrival of Universal Control, in connection with macOS 12.3 on Mac. Now all you need is a single keyboard with mouse or trackpad to control a Mac and an iPad, or even several. Move the cursor from your Mac to your iPad. Type text on your Mac and see it appear on your iPad. And you can even drag content from one Mac to another.
The update also brings new Emojis, sets the stage for Tap to Pay, a new voice for Siri (in English) and adds an alert to limit spying with AirTags.
If your device is set up to receive developer betas, go to Settings > General > Software Update. You will be able to download the iOS 15.4 release candidate.
