The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have a ProMotion display that allows display at up to 120Hz, but there are complications with third-party apps. Fortunately, iOS 15.4 corrects the situation.
120 Hz for all third-party apps with iOS 15.4
Initially, several people noticed that third-party applications did not seem to take advantage of the 120 Hz screen of the iPhone 13 Pro and were confined to a 60 Hz display. Apple then reacted and indicated that there was a bug with Core Animation. Apple then indicated that the developers could force 120 Hz, but they had to manually modify a value. This will change with iOS 15.4.
Someone at AppleChristian Selig, the developer of the Apollo app (a Reddit customer), that iOS 15.4 fixes the bug and developers no longer need to do anything. Indeed, iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.4 can automatically enable 120Hz display with third-party apps. The capture below confirms the statements with 8.33 ms.
Yay, got a little message from someone at Apple today that this is fixed in the iOS 15.4 betas and all apps automatically get 120 Hz animations on supported iPhones going forward, and just confirmed myself. (See attached, 1/120 = 8.33ms) 🥳🥳🥳 https://t.co/EtZ9zkrM6S

Apple does not yet say when the final version of iOS 15.4 will be available. It must be said that we had the first beta last night. We can therefore suspect that the stable version will not arrive for several weeks.
