The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max should say goodbye to the notch to make room for a hole. This information has already circulated a few months ago and The Elec confirms it today.
A hole for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max
This hole in the iPhone 14 Pro will allow Apple to offer more surface area, really giving the impression of having a screen in your hands. The hole will house the front photo sensor. For once, this is not new, the competition on Android already offers such a format, and has been for a while now.
The iPhone 14 will have a 6.1-inch screen and the Pro Max model will have a 6.7-inch one. What will the scenario be for non-Pro models? Apple would abandon the mini model to offer a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and a 6.7-inch “iPhone 14 Max”. Both should retain the notch.
According to The Elec, Apple will once again call on Samsung for OLED screens with LTPO technology. These panels make it possible in particular to have a display up to 120 Hz, while limiting energy consumption. This is already in place with the iPhone 13 Pro. For 2022, Apple could also call on LG for a certain percentage of screens, but this point remains to be confirmed.
