iPhone SE+ 5G in 2022 and a 5.7-inch model in 2023

Apple is planning new iPhone SEs with a model for 2022 and the next one arriving not in 2024 but in 2023 if we are to believe information from Ross Young. This analyst specializing in screens has always been very well informed about Apple.

Apple will launch a 5G iPhone SE+ in 2022 and a 5.7-inch model in 2023

An iPhone SE+ 5G for 2022

According to him, Apple will launch an iPhone SE + 5G in 2022. Several pieces of information have already circulated about it, including the fact that the design should be more than similar, if not identical to the iPhone SE which was released in 2020. This was based on the general design of the iPhone. iPhone 8 with bezels around the screen, a Home button, Touch ID, no notch, no Face ID and a 4.7-inch LCD screen. The 2022 model would be entitled to the A15 chip (the same found in the iPhone 13) and 5G support for ever more speed. The launch could take place in March or April during an Apple keynote.

The choice of the name iPhone SE+ 5G may in any case surprise. Why choose “+” when you know that the screen is not bigger than the previous model? Also, having the mention 5G in the name would be a first for 14 years. The last model to have the network in its name was the iPhone 3G in 2008.

A model with a larger screen for 2023

Then comes another iPhone SE which would have the particularity of having a larger screen, namely a 5.7-inch panel. Initial rumors had initially spoken of 5.7 or 6.1 inches, and Apple obviously preferred to go with the first option. Early rumors had also suggested that the launch wouldn’t take place before 2024. But then again, the situation has visibly changed… or early information was wrong, which is a possibility.
