Kuo: Apple is testing a foldable 9-inch iPhone

Apple is testing a device with a 9-inch foldable display, but the iPhone Fold is unlikely to launch before 2025.

On Twitter, Kuo said that Apple is “actively testing” a device with a foldable 9-inch OLED display with a PPI somewhere between ‌iPhone‌ and iPad. This device will presumably be used to evaluate and verify the key technologies involved in the foldable technology developed by Apple.

Kuo believes Apple’s foldable product development will initially focus on mid-size devices, followed by devices with larger screens, before eventually expanding to smaller devices like iPhones. For this, Apple’s first foldable smartphone could only be released in 2025. On the other hand, a foldable iPad could be launched a year earlier.
