MacBook Pro with M2 chip coming next month?

According to a new report from Supply Chain, Apple will launch its first MacBook Pro with the M2 chip at its spring event, to be held next month.

MacBook Pro M2

DigiTimes reports that Apple’s supply chain partners kept production lines running during the Chinese New Year holiday ahead of the launch of the new MacBook Pro, which is expected to launch “early March”:

“Apple will launch a number of new devices in early March, including the new MacBook Pro which adopts the latest M2 processor, iPhone SE 5G and iPad 5G. With the exception of the processor, most other components used in the new MacBook Pro will feature roughly the same specifications as the existing M1 chip model, leading MacBook Pro supply chain partners to maintain production during the Chinese New Year holiday. to meet the growing demand for the Mac series. »

Although the report doesn’t mention the exact dimensions of the MacBook Pro, the only “Pro” model with the M1 chip is the 13-inch MacBook Pro, so it’s safe to assume that Apple is working on an updated version of this machine. We will find the new M2 chip, which should be an improved version of the M1 chip, but not able to compete with the recent M1 Pro and M1 Max. This same chip is also expected to arrive in the new MacBook Air, expected sometime in 2022.

We will most likely say goodbye to the Touch Bar, as we have already seen with the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Also, the screen will not have Pro Motion technology.

In short, it’s now clear that 2022 will truly be a year full of new Apple-branded products. It remains only to wait for the first official event.
