“Peek Performance”, what clues does the poster hide?

Apple has officially announced the first event of 2022, with invites for the March 8 virtual keynote. As tradition dictates, various networks are already talking about the clues hidden in the invitation poster.

Peek Performance, Apple event

The slogan for the event is ” performance peek“. With a play on the term peak performance, which sounds a bit like maximum performance, Apple invites users to take a “peek” at the performance of new products. Something that in English also sounds like fast or stealthy.

Probably, Apple makes us understand that the hardware innovations will not be relevant, given that the eventual iPad Air 5 and iPhone SE 3 could integrate the 5G connection and the A12 Bionic chip as the only novelties. The same may be true for the new Apple Silicon Macs, given that analysts are expecting an entry-level MacBook Pro and Mac mini with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

The fact that we are talking about “Peek” and that there is an AR logo can also hide another surprise: a very first presentation of Apple’s AR / VR headset. The company is expected to release this device at the end of 2022, but a preview presentation is not ruled out to allow developers to familiarize themselves with the hardware and start developing the applications.

As for other clues, we only have the Apple logo with various colors, but no plausible guesses only their meaning (new colors for iPhone 13?). In the meantime, the official hashflag for the event, #AppleEvent with the colored logo, is available on Twitter and will be available from today until March 11. A hashflag is an icon displayed next to certain special hashtags on Twitter, which Apple has used for other events in the past.
