ProMotion, exclusive to iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max?

The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max were the first iPhones to introduce a display with ProMotion technology. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to push the display of the smartphone up to 120 Hz, dynamically changing the operating frequency. However, this technology could remain exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

ProMotion, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max

The indiscretion comes directly from Ross Young, a leaker known in the past for his accurate information. Young’s tweet delete essentially previous rumors received this week regarding a possible extension of the ProMotion across the entire iPhone 14 line.

Commercial or production choice? For the moment it is difficult to say but according to Young BOE, the supplier of LTPO OLED screens for the low-end iPhone 14 models, it would not have sufficient production capacity. It is therefore unclear whether the ProMotion will even be available on the base models of the next iPhones. However, the choice could also be commercial in nature, given that me ProMotion is a technology limited only to Pro models in the Apple range (iPhone 13 Pro, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro).

Apple is expected to release the next iPhones as usual in September. We therefore have plenty of time before Apple resolves all doubts at the presentation stage. Do you think Apple will bring ProMotion to the base iPhone models as well? Please let us know in the comments.
