Studio Display: the different screen supports are not interchangeable after purchase

When ordering the new StudioDisplay ofApple, the buyer must choose between different mounting options, namely a classic monitor stand (front-to-back tilt), a tilt and height-adjustable stand, and a VESA adapter. You will have to be sure of your choice since Apple specifies on the Studio Display product page that the type of support is directly integrated into the shell of the screen and is therefore not interchangeable!

Studio Display Support

From left to right: base stand, tilt and height-adjustable stand and finally the Studio Display directly on the wall with a VESA adapter. Note that the choice of the height-adjustable support generates an additional cost of 400 euros on purchase.

The warning is clear: “Every mounting bracket or adapter is built-in. They are not interchangeable, so it is important to consider the needs of your workspace when purchasing ». It is all the same a pity that a monitor of this price, whatever its qualities elsewhere, is not a little more flexible. After all, the user also has the right to change his working environment and therefore to review the type of support best suited for his monitor. The Studio Display is available early, with deliveries starting March 18 (if stock is available).
