The new iPhone SE 5G is expected to launch between April and May

We are getting closer and closer to the launch of the third generation iPhone SE with 5G connectivity. According to analyst Ross Young, production of the display panel that will be used in the iPhone SE 3 will begin this month, suggesting a launch in the second half of April or early May.

Ross Young is an analyst for Display Supply Chain Consultants and has always been very reliable when it comes to displays. His reports are usually based on supply chain information and he recently provided plenty of details about the iPhone SE 5G.

In terms of design, the new device is expected to be identical to the current iPhone SE. This means that the design will still be based on that of the iPhone 8, with a 4.7-inch screen, Home button and Touch ID. There will be new things under the hood, thanks to the new A15 chip and 5G connectivity.

Panel production for the new iPhone SE will begin this month, so it’s plausible that actual production of the iPhone itself will begin in March. Based on these deadlines, we can hypothesize an official announcement between the end of April and the beginning of May. These timelines are in line with previous reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who said Apple would hold a virtual event between March and April to announce the iPhone SE 3 and new iPad Air.
