Images of a prototype MagSafe battery reveal Apple’s first approach to this accessory for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
The images were shared from the Twitter accountand show a prototype version of Apple’s MagSafe battery.
This prototype differs from the final model released by Apple in 2021, as it features a glossy white plastic shell, side-printed credentials, a different material for the rear surface (without a MagSafe alignment ring), and an LED. at the back instead of the lower side.
Although there is no embossed MagSafe alignment ring, the prototype shows a circular outline which indicates the presence of MagSafe technology. It is possible that the prototype simply lacks the extra rubbery layer present on the final MagSafe Battery Pack.
The positioning of the LED charge indicator on the back of the battery is curious because it would have been hidden by the connected iPhone. This little glitch probably led to the decision to move the LED to the right of the lower Lightning port.
Before the launch of the latest MagSafe Battery Pack, there were several rumors of delays in the production of this accessory which would arrive later in the course of 2021.
