Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company sees a lot of potential in the metaverse, especially when it comes to Apple’s efforts in augmented reality and virtual reality.
Tim Cook confirms that the company wants to invest in this area: “We are interested in the metaverse and have already engaged in augmented reality technology. We are an innovation company and have over 14,000 AR apps in the App Store. We see a lot of potential in this space and are investing accordingly. »
The CEO didn’t mention a possible headset, but in the past he hinted that Apple’s idea wasn’t to bring users into the metaverse via AR/VR headsets, because such devices would be designed for much shorter sessions. However, things could change before the release of these viewers, as the metaverse increasingly captures the interest of users.
The metaverse at present is still a conceptual idea, but in the future it could truly represent a virtual place in which to work, attend events and socialize.
