TIME has released its annual ranking of the 100 most influential companies in the world, once again confirming Apple in this special list.
TIME explains that its annual list highlights companies that are making a huge impact around the world and across all industries, including technology, entertainment and beyond. Each company is evaluated on factors such as relevance, impact, innovation, leadership, ambition and success.
“Last year, Apple and its CEO, Tim Cook, took an important step by enabling users to block advertising companies from tracking their app usage, a technique used for ad targeting. Apple has touted the change as a victory for user privacy and users seem to agree, with most opting out of tracking.
Many activists hailed the development of this technology, but others noted Apple’s enormous power. And in earnings calls after the changes, ad-addicted tech giants like Meta and Snap accused Apple’s move of being anti-competitive. »
TIME also noted Apple’s plans to allow users to repair their iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models themselves. Other companies on the list include Meta, Microsoft, IBM, NVIDIA, Disney, Netflix, Alphabet and Amazon. .
