Fortune magazine’s “Worlds Most Admired Companies” ranking of the world’s most admired companies once again places Apple in first place, ahead of Amazon and Microsoft.
As happened last year, and beyond, Apple is gaining the top spot in every industry, not just tech. Fortune calls it the “All Stars” list, but notes that Apple also topped the computer industry rankings for the twelfth time in the past 13 years.
According to the publication, Apple’s position in this ranking also reveals how competitors perceive the Cupertino company.
“Our individual industry rankings show where each ranks among the leaders in their industry, the people who compete with them every day. While Apple’s 15-year reign on the All-Stars list is truly remarkable, for example, its presence at the top of the computer industry rankings, for the twelfth time in the past 13 years, suggests that it simultaneously impressed an even tougher audience. »
Behind Apple, we find Amazon in second position, while Microsoft completes the podium. Pfizer is fourth, while Walt Disney is fifth. Google, or rather its parent company Alphabet, ranks only seventh. You can check out Fortune’s full chart at this link.
Fortune partners with management consultancy Korn Ferry to compile this ranking. Companies are initially ranked by revenue, entering the 1,000 largest US companies. Finally, approximately 3,740 executives, administrators and analysts are invited to select the 10 companies they most admire.
